Effective Leaders

Part of the task of leadership is learning to spend eighty percent of your time with the twenty percent of the people who are doing eighty percent of the work.–Jim Rohn

I believe that organizations and teams will rise and fall based upon there leadership or lack thereof. I believe that leaders are made and not born. I also believe we are all leaders in some form or at least should be. Leadership, as well as self-mastery, doesn’t happen in a moment, it happens over a span of time.

The only way to become an effective leader who attracts quality people is to become a quality person yourself. John Maxwell says: “Leadership is influence, nothing more, nothing less.”  In other words, it’s inspiring others to follow you. Great leaders keep working on their skills. This is how they become effective leaders.

Effective leaders figure out who to work with. They invest their time with those twenty percent who are making things happen. This is particularly true in the network marketing industry. Since there is only twenty four hours in a day, you have to learn to invest time with those who are getting the job done.

Effective leaders are strong but not impolite or rude. Effective leaders are kind but not weak. They are willing to be kind enough to tell someone the truth. They need to be willing to lay it on the line or tell it like it is.

Effective leaders are bold. They need to set the example and lead the way. Effective leaders seize opportunity. They are humble but not timid. You can’t accomplish great things by being timid.

Effective leaders have a bigger vision than those they lead. They have bigger goals. Effective leaders have a better, more positive attitude. They are optimistic and focus on solutions, and not problems.

Effective leaders put those they lead first. You’ve heard it said that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Zig Zieglar said, “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help enough other people get what they want.”  Effective leaders realize if they help others accomplish their goals, they will accomplish their goals.

Everyone is leading someone and everyone is following someone. Whether or not you feel you are a leader, you are!!!

Have an awesome day and keep working on your leadership.
