Discipline

If you explore achievement and success, there is one word that stands out above all the rest and that word is discipline. There is a quote by Jim Rohn that I think embodies or represents the successful life. He said:

Discipline is the bridge between thought and accomplishment, between inspiration and achievement, between necessity and productivity”.

Take some time to ponder this quote. When you think about it, everything in life comes down to discipline. If you’ve thought about losing weight, the only way it will happen is for you to be disciplined enough to watch your food intake and/or increase your physical activity. If you’ve been inspired to become more spiritual, it requires discipline to spend time daily in God’s Word and prayer. If you’ve decided to enhance your financial condition, you have to be disciplined to not buy anything and also disciplined to increase your income until your income exceeds your expenses.

Succeeding in small disciplines leads to succeeding in big disciplines. Last Monday, I started a 7 day nutritional cleanse. It included eating chicken, organic vegetables, grapefruit juice, and water. The reasons I put myself through this are numerous. First, it’s a great jump start to losing some weight and living a healthier lifestyle. Second, I believe it good for our bodies to cleanse them 3-4 times a year from  all the toxins we take in. And last but not least, it forces me to discipline myself. Small successes lead to big successes.

Discipline is the key that can unlock the door to just about anything. It can help us achieve heath, wealth, pride, happiness, accomplishment, satisfaction, and success. Most people don’t live up to there New Year Resolutions because of lack of discipline. Don’t be one of those that falls short. You can accomplish anything you put your mind to. Discipline is the key.

Have an awesome day and live life with passion.
