Outstanding leaders go out of their way to boost the self-esteem of their personnel. If people believe in themselves, it’s amazing what they can accomplish.–Sam Walton
Extensive research shows that less than 15% of us are really happy with the quality of life that we’re experiencing. This means 85% of us are NOT! Are you one of the 15%?
You learn more from your mistakes than you do your successes. In order to be successful, you have to be willing to take risks. Most people are afraid to take risks because they are afraid their going to fail. Most people are afraid their going to fail because they worry about what other people think about them. So one of the real secrets of success is to find a way to raise your self-esteem. If you could raise you self-esteem, you would be more willing to take risks. If your more willing to take risks, you increase your chances for success.
One of the biggest problems many people face today is lack of self-esteem. There are so many people I meet that suffer from a lack of self worth. Unfortunately, this lack of self worth or low self image affects their lives in so many ways including disharmony, suffering, challenges, and conflicts of all kinds. It’s one of the biggest single causes for people not succeeding. I see it in the insurance business and the network marketing industry. Most people suffer from call reluctance because they don’t want to be told no. Low self-esteem is why so many people can’t handle rejection and therefore won’t do what it takes to be successful. They take it personally when people they prospect aren’t interested or say no, so they eventually give up and quit on their dreams to achieve something worthwhile. Low self-esteem leaves us settling for a mediocre life and giving up on our dreams.
Many people didn’t grow up with parents who were skilled in the art of nurturing their sense of self worth. It wasn’t because they didn’t love us, they weren’t brought up that way either. Because of that, we failed to realize how magnificent God created us to be, and therefore, many of us have settled for less than we deserve. In many cases our inadequate self worth has resulted in us not making the most of our special gifts and talents that God gave us.
The real secret to achieve anything you want to achieve, to become anyone you want to become, starts with self-esteem. With high self-esteem, you will take more risks. You won’t be so concerned with rejection and failing, and you will increase your chances for success. There are some behaviors and attitudes that will contribute to building your self-esteem and to success. We’ll talk about some of those this week.
Have an awesome day.
