A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst and it sparks extraordinary results. –Wade Boggs
Successful leaders have a positive attitude and set a positive example. A great example of this is the story of Napoleon Bonaparte. He was just an obscure artillery officer and recently promoted to general. When he arrived to take command of the troops, they were starving and naked. He told them he was going to lead them into the most fertile plains in the world and they will win honor, fame and riches.
His army was outnumbered more than two to one, but he was able to give his army the hope of a great future. He defeated the Austrians in a series of eighteen major battles. Napoleon led by example. He conveyed his optimism to his troops and reinforced it with action. The combination of positive thinking and positive action was the key to his successful leadership.
The moral of the story is that if you give people hope, they will follow you. But before you can do that, you must inspire yourself. You can’t inspire others if your own thinking is pessimistic and negative. Positive attitude and positive action are essential forĀ a leader. Nothing great was ever achieved without a positive attitude and positive action. It seems to me that motivation comes from within. It comes from either inspiration or desperation. The one thing we can do as a leader is to try and motivate by our example. We can try and help others dream again and have a vision of hope just like Napoleon gave to his army. It is my desire to inspire and encourage others but the true motivation to change something in their life will have to come from within.
Always be checking your self talk and your example to others. Make sure it is positive. Great things can be accomplished through a positive attitude combined with positive action.
Have an awesome day.
