Reasons For Failure (cont)

I’ve come to believe that all my past failure and frustration were actually laying the foundation for the understandings that have created the new level of living I now enjoy.–Tony Robbins

Yesterday, we were talking about some of the most common reasons people fail. There are a few more reasons I would like to share with you. One of those reasons is a LACK OF COMMITMENT. Without commitment you cannot accomplish anything worthwhile. Without commitment there is always a chance to hesitate and retreat. With true commitment, nothing will stand in your way of accomplishing what you set out to accomplish. Think about the last time you failed. Did you stop trying because you failed, or did you fail because you stopped trying? Did you give it your all and go the extra mile? If your committed, success will happen, no matter how long it takes.

UNWILLINGNESS TO CHANGEĀ  is another reason for failure. The older you get, the less willing you are to change, unless you create a culture of change. Change is not something you have to love but it is something you have to accept. Change is what allows you to grow. Change provides opportunity. If you resist change, your really resisting growth and success. You have to learn to be flexible.

SHORT-TERM THINKING is also a common reason for failure. In our want-it-now world it’s easy to take short cuts or to think we can cut corners on the path to success. Most people underestimate the time and effort it takes to achieve something of value and aren’t willing to pay a price. Albert Gray said, “The common denominator of success lies in forming the habit of doing things that failures don’t like to do.” Don’t give in to your moods and impulses. Set you standards and work according to them. Self-discipline is acquired through practice.

Last but not least in the reasons for failure is LACK OF GOALS. Joe L. Griffith says, “A goal is nothing more than a dream with a time limit.” I find very few people that have goals and that’s probably a result of people not allowing themselves to dream. Without a dream and goals, there is no desire to accomplish.

What is your weakness? What’s holding you back from fulfilling your dreams? Dedicate yourself to work on growth and self improvement and stay on the path of success.

We have so much to be thankful for. Have an awesome Thanksgiving weekend.
