Failure doesn’t just happen in an instant. Neither does success. Both failure and success are a process. They are not an event or destination. It’s the journey or path we take day in and day out. What determines our success comes from what we do each day. As Jeff Olson would say, it’s The Slight Edge that happens everyday that either puts us on the path of failure or success.
You are the only person that can label what you do as a failure. Your perception of your mistakes determine your failures. Achievers are not deterred by challenges and mistakes. The reason is they don’t see them as failures. They understand that three steps forward and two steps back is still one step forward. They understand it’s part of the process.
It takes failure to create success. NBA coach Rick Pitino said; “Failure is good. It’s fertilizer. Everything I’ve learned about coaching I’ve learned from making mistakes.” High achievers don’t see mistakes as the enemy. Instead, they see it as stepping stones to success. Make every failure a step towards success.
Failure is never final unless we quit. We simply need to see challenges and mistakes as a regular part of life, learn from them, and move on. If we persevere, we WILL achieve our dreams. We all have a choice, we can be afraid of failure, not take any risks, and never achieve anything great. Or better yet, realize that failure is simply a step along the path of success and go accomplish your dreams. Failure is essential.
Have an awesome day.
