What Can I Do To Make This Better?

The fourth principle from “9 Things a Leader Must Do” is that successful leaders continually ask themselves, ” What can I do to make this situation better?” Great leaders tend to take the initiative in addressing the problem and look for a solution. They get into action. In life, we find ourselves in many roles and relationships. While circumstances change, the one constant is who we are and our character. Successful leaders tend to be consistent in how they express their character in the way they live. They lead with integrity and practice ownership and responsibility.

Many of the problems we face as leaders are people problems. Leaders ask questions and find ways to repair relationships. They will apologize, confront, listen, try to understand, communicate, get feedback and ask “What can I do to make this better?” Peoples lives can be transformed by them simply asking themselves this question.

What is your dream? Ask yourself, “What do I need to do now?” How can I improve my situation? What do I need to do to get where I want to be? What skills do I need to develop? What fears do I need to overcome? Whom do I need to get help from? How can I grow and invest my talents? Remember the parable of the talents in Matthew 25. We are instructed to initiate action and take a risk if we expect to be successful. We have to do something. If your economy is lousy, find another way. Gain other skills in a different field, find a niche that is hot, enlarge your network, start your own home-based business or something. Don’t sit around and wait for the economy to come back. GET MOVING AND DO SOMETHING.

Have an awesome day.
