If we want to turn our dreams into reality, we need to start with a plan. Most of us think that we have to have this elaborate plan to get to the finish line or realize our dream. We don’t need to develop the perfect plan, we just need a plan to get started. You have to start with a plan but that’s not the plan that will get you there. That doesn’t seem to make sense, but think about anything you’ve learned to do. Taking your first step, riding a bicycle, or learning how to play golf. These actions or activities all got started and then we made adjustments to continue to improve.
All we need for our dream is a plan that’s gives us a starting point. As we continue to learn through both study and doing, then making adjustments through plan, do, and review, we realize the plan is dynamic and ever changing. Our initial plan turns into a second plan and then a third plan, and so forth.
Remember, “Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.” If we really buy into that as our philosophy, our subconscious mind will help generate the attitudes and actions needed to continuously improve on the plan. The plan we start with is not the plan that will get us there. Nobody can tell you exactly how to fulfill your plan or accomplish your dreams. Every person and every dream is different and no particular set of circumstances are the same. That’s why you need a plan to start with but it won’t be the same plan that gets you to your destination.
You have to start with the right philosophy and attitude, and the right philosophy will help you find the right plan.
“If you go to work on your goals, your goals will go to work on you. If you go to work on your plan, your plan will go to work on you. Whatever good things we build end up building us. –Jim Rohn
