“The same thinking that has led you to where you are is not going to lead you to where you want to go.” –Albert Einstein
To turn your dreams into reality, you must write then down. You need to make them specific and give them a deadline. Napoleon Hill said, “Reduce your plan to writing… The moment you complete this, you will have definitely given concrete form to the intangible desire.” Unless you write down your goals, they will get lost and forgotten in the day to day activities of new challenges and new decisions.
The most critical skill in achieving success in any area of your life, whether its sports, finances, health or relationships, is the skill of envisioning. This simply means having the ability to create a vivid picture of something that hasn’t happened yet and make it so vivid that it feels real. An example might be your dream home or envisioning your life debt free. Envisioning doesn’t just happen because you have a picture in your mind, it means literally making something up out of thin air and making it become real. To do this, it needs to involve our senses. That’s why we write it down, It’s even more beneficial to make pictures of it , sometimes called a “dream board.” Speaking it out loud every day is the most powerful of all.
What are the dreams you’ve come up with these past few days? Your dream car, dream vacation, dream job, dream marriage, dream career, or dream vacation. Take the time today to write down these dreams until you have five dreams. On Monday, I’ll share my list with you and ask you to do the same. Remember these dreams can be small or huge and neither more or less worthy to make real. Over the weekend, as you write out these dreams, make each dream very specific. Next week, we’ll talk about the what and when to make the dreams more concrete.
Have fun this weekend continuing to dream and writing them down.
Dream big and live a life of passion.
